These strategic contributors provide market expertise, business management and entrepreneurship experience as well as investing and financial management.
Tim Belcher is an investor and consultant to various technology and security companies. Previously, he co-founded Riptech where he served as the Chief Technology Officer. At Riptech, Mr. Belcher was the visionary behind Caltarian, the award winning technology that was the foundation for Riptech’s security monitoring services. Ernst & Young recognized Mr. Belcher for his success with the “Entrepreneur of the Year” award in 2001.
Prior to co-founding Riptech, Mr. Belcher was the Chief Engineer, Eastern Region of Trident Data Systems, a leading cyber security services firm. He has managed information security efforts, including highly specialized network vulnerability and penetration testing; incident response and recovery; intrusion detection; and information security monitoring for numerous Fortune 500 clients, including some of the nation’s top ten financial institutions. In addition to supporting commercial clientele, Mr. Belcher has also conducted security assessments of some of the nation’s most critical infrastructure components, including the Federal Aviation Administration’s Air Traffic Control Network. He has also worked with government organizations such as the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the National Reconnaissance Office, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and Space and Naval Warfare Command. Mr. Belcher is also a decorated Army veteran of Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
Jeremy M. Kroll is the Managing Member of JEMKROLL Holdings, LLC an investment and advisory firm focused on working with companies in the information technology, security, defense and financial services sectors.
Jeremy spent the past 10 years as an executive at Kroll Inc., the global risk consulting and technology division of Marsh & McLennan Cos. (NYSE: MMC), where he worked with its clients and served the firm as an "intrapreneur", developing businesses and products and taking on management, marketing and corporate development roles.
He is Chairman of Digital Transaction Machines, a wireless advertising and media company. He serves on the board of advisors for Security Growth Partners and The Challenge Fund. He also serves as a trustee of The Jewish Home & Hospital Lifecare System in New York City.
Mr. Kroll holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in foreign languages and fine arts from Georgetown University.
Gary Millin is a proven executive with exceptional leadership skills demonstrated by a successful career building and managing high-growth businesses. Mr. Millin has fifteen years of experience working with companies in all phases of their development from start-up to IPO and beyond. Millin is leveraging this experience as part of a development team brought together to launch a portfolio of world class Internet properties on top of premier domain names including USA.com, London.com, India.com, Doctor.com, Lawyer.com, Accountant.com and many others. Prior to his current venture, Mr. Millin was President of MediaSentry, Inc where he capitalized on the dramatic shifts in technology and consumer behavior impacting the entertainment and media markets. Mr. Millin built MediaSentry into the trusted market leader in online anti-piracy services and subsequently managed the sale of the company to SafeNet, Inc (NASDAQ: SFNT). Before joining MediaSentry, Mr. Millin was the co-founder and President of Mail.com, now Easylink Services Corporation (NASDAQ: EASY). As President, Mr. Millin built the company within four years from a start-up to a public company with a market capitalization of over $1 billion and operations in 35 countries. Mr. Millin began his career in venture capital at Consumer Venture Partners. He also spent time in corporate finance at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. Mr. Millin was a Baker Scholar at Harvard Business School, where he received his MBA and he holds a BS degree in Economics with honors from the Wharton Business School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Scot Sedlacek is a veteran of the technology finance and investment banking world with more than 25 years of industry experience. Sedlacek was a managing director with Jefferies & Company's Technology Investment Banking Group, Jefferies Broadview (JBV), one of the largest banking teams dedicated to information technology, communications, and digital media businesses. At JBV, Sedlacek formerly led the IT security team and specialized in providing merger and acquisition advisory services to enterprise software clients on more than 100 transactions blue chip technology companies and tier-one private equity firms.
He previously served on the Board of Directors of Broadview International through its acquisition by Jefferies & Co. and was co-head of the firm's Software and Services global market group. Sedlacek currently serves on the Strategic Advisory Board of Jefferson Partners, a Toronto-based venture capital firm focused on technology investing, and Lumeta, a leading provider of network assurance solutions that allow enterprises to balance the constant forces of network change, with risk management and compliance imperatives.
Eric Shuey is the Chief Financial Officer of Liberty Dialysis LLC, a leading national provider of outsourced dialysis services and a portfolio company of Bain Capital Ventures. Mr. Shuey has more than fifteen years of corporate finance and private equity investing experience. Prior to joining Liberty Dialysis, he served as a Director at DB Capital Partners, the private equity arm of Deutsche Bank responsible for over $10 billion in assets, and a Principal at Aurora Capital Group, a $1 billion private equity firm. Mr. Shuey also has experience as an investment banker with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. During this time, he has been involved in more than fifteen private equity transactions and has invested over $800 million in equity generating returns of more than $1.5 billion. Mr. Shuey earned an MBA from the Wharton School of Business, where he was a Palmer Scholar and graduated with distinction. In addition, he has completed the coursework for his PhD in Management at the Wharton School. He earned his BA from California State University, Fullerton, where he graduated with highest honors.
Amit Yoran is President of Yoran Associates, a firm providing advisory services to global enterprises on their technology strategy and associated business risks and exposures. Mr. Yoran also serves as an independent director on the boards of several innovative security technology companies. Prior to founding Yoran Associates he was appointed by President Bush as the Administration's cyber chief, responsible for coordinating the national activities in cyber security. Working with the Secretary of Homeland Security, Mr. Yoran coordinated among federal departments, national and international law enforcement and intelligence efforts and worked extensively with leading technology firms and critical infrastructure companies. Formerly, Mr. Yoran served as CEO and advisor to In-Q-Tel, venture capital arm of the CIA, and as the Vice President of Worldwide Managed Security Services at the Symantec Corporation. Mr. Yoran was the co-founder of Riptech, a market leading IT security company. Previously, he served an officer in the US Air Force as the Director of Vulnerability Programs for the Department of Defense's Computer Emergency Response Team. Mr. Yoran received a Master of Science degree from the George Washington University and Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Robert K. West is responsible for creating and executing Echelon One’s corporate strategy. He has over 22 years of experience in information security, physical security, awareness, strategic planning, governance, organizational change, relationship management, computer network design, implementation and management.
Bob is a frequent speaker on the subject of information security and a member of the TriCipher Advisory Board, the KoolSpan Advisory Board, a member of the Cincinnati ISSA chapter board of directors, the Executive Security Action Forum, the United Way’s Toqueville Society, and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association. He has also been a member of RSA Security’s Customer Advisory Council, and the ISS Customer Advisory Council.
Previously, Bob was Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Fifth Third Bank in Cincinnati where he was responsible for the enterprise information security strategy. Prior to joining Fifth Third, Bob worked for Bank One in Columbus where he held several key leadership roles, including Information Security Officer for Bank One's Retail Group. Prior to joining Bank One, Bob was a manager with Ernst & Young’s Information Security Services practice in Chicago, and a Senior Systems Officer with Citicorp International in New York and Chicago.
Bob received the 2004 Digital ID World Conference award for Balancing Innovation and Reality, and a 2004 InfoWorld 100 Award for implementing cross-company authentication using SAML. Bob graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in German and then received his Master of Science in Management Information Systems from North Central College.
